And how they put their best work into each bottle

The Sadie Family Columella

Speaking of exotics, Columella is one of the least well known great Syrahs I know of. It comes from South Africa and shares a certain character with Australian Shiraz, though there is more herb and earth and slightly less overt fruitiness to be found. With time in the bottle, Columella gains a truly classic array of spice, earth and savory notes that allow it to hang in with the best the world has to offer. These are big wines, dense and powerful, but with remarkable balance as well. I love them and only wish they were more readily available.

Sort of like great acting roles for Queen Latifah, something I’d also like to see more of!
