Benjamin Bridge Brut Reserve Canada 2012

Member Review by zufrieden:

Just cracked (or rather, popped) a bottle of Nova Scotia (yes, Nova Scotia) Champagne-style wine from the upper reaches of the Bay of Fundy at Gaspereau. The wine is made by Benjamin Bridge - somewhat of a legend in these parts. Today's wine is the 2012 Brut (about 55 dollars in Canadian funds). It has locally grown vinifera grapes (Pinot Noir 25%, Pinot Meunier 12% and Chardonnay 63%). Some white fruit and citrus on the nose and good effervescence - even after ten minutes in the Champagne flute. Entry is tart, citric and lean - as expected - with a hint of bitters on the finish. Very clean and very cool climate. Better than Mumm's Cordon Rouge and ten dollars cheaper. 90.
